In order that we can provide easy access to all of the stories that have been sent in to us over the years we have created a PDF library. Here is a short explanation for those of you not familiar with the term PDF and what it means when you want to read a PDF file. PDF (Portable Document Format) is a universal file format developed by Adobe® that preserves all the fonts, formatting, graphics, and colour of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. All of the stories that contain text and pictures that were previously stored on individual pages on the Walthamstow Memories website are now stored as PDF files. Our picture galleries will now be managed by another free piece of software called Galerie - that provides a very neat way of storing and viewing photographs and pictures on the website.

We are always happy to receive comment on how to improve the site and make it more interesting to those who have an interest in this old county borough.
